Announcing the Charter Members of the IAYT Member Schools Programs
IAYT opened a new membership
type for schools with Yoga therapist training programs in mid 2008.
By joining as a Charter
Member, each of these schools made a substantial commitment to the professional
development of our field.
Their dues support:

|
Dan Seitz, JD, our consultant, at the Meeting with Schools. |
|
- The Meeting with Schools, held just before SYTAR 2009, including a meeting facilitator and subject matter expert to help develop a structure and begin the process to establish educational standards for the training of Yoga therapists. The work on structure is also known as the Council of Schools Initiative.
- The 2008 Survey of Yoga Therapist Training Programs. The purpose of this survey is to present a bird's eye view of the field as a whole and to help students find the right training program for them.
- Continued work on structure and process as well as other support for Member Schools.

Announcing the Results of the 2008 IAYT Survey of Yoga Therapist Training Programs
IAYT is pleased to announce the
results from the 2008 Survey of Yoga Therapist Training Programs.
Our primary
purpose is to present objective and quantifiable information in order to provide
prospective students a bird's eye view of the lay of the land so they can investigate
program specifics further.
A second purpose is to better understand the development
of our field, as today's training programs reflect our present and influence our
future.
This overview will provide a foundation for the evolving
discussions about what are the essential components of a Yoga therapist training
program.
The results are published on IAYT's website under
Professional Resources/Therapist Training
as a grid in three parts. Each part is futher divided in to General Yoga Therapist Training Programs, Specialty Programs and a limited number of International Programs (outside of North America) |
